Jerusalem

Triptych, 2019. My three oil paintings are on canvas, 120 cm x 80 cm. They were on show at my Solo Exhibition at Hechal Shlomo Museum of Jewish Art in Jerusalem at the beginning of 2020, just before the corona virus caused the museum to close down for some time.

DETAILS OF ART WORK

Sketching at The Kotel

I lived in Nachlaot in 2006 for six years. I lived in a tiny studio apartment on Rechov Bezalel. When I went out each day, in all weathers, I would take my sketch book and watercolours with me.

I spent a great deal of time at The Western Wall, known, especially in Israel, as ‘The Kotel’. I was there in the sunshine, the rain and the snow. Since moving to Beer Sheva in 2013, I have gone back many times to Jerusalem, and have added to my sketch books, as well as taking photographs.

I worked the above oil paintings from the sketches I did at The Wall whilst living in both Jerusalem and Beer Sheva.
