Mishloach manot, a gift for friends, is carried by the mother as she walks through the flowers with her daughter. The Jewish Festival of Purim takes place in the Spring, when the flowers start to bloom. The Book of a Esther, read on Purim, tells of how Jews’ lives were saved in ancient Persia from Haman’s plot “to destroy, kill and annihilate all the Jews, young and old, infants and women, in a single day.” This is a good reason to celebrate. I have tried to capture the joy of the day in this digital art work.
