I finished this painting about half an hour ago, signed it and scanned it and posted it here. The wonders of modern technology.
Title: Shopping in the Shouk for Shabbat, Jerusalem.
Media: Watercolour, watercolour pencils and inktense pencils. As you can see it is not a ‘traditional’ watercolour. I have used white gouache as well.
Size: A4 (approx. 297mm x 210mm).
I have tried to capture the hustle and bustle of the Shouk in Jerusalem on Fridays, when Jews shop for Shabbat, whatever the weather. Last winter I made many sketches of people moving about in Jerusalem in the wind and rain. Last summer, I made a detailed watercolour sketch of the Shouk. I have also made quite a lot of studies of people with shopping trolleys and plastic carrier bags (see my pen and ink drawings in my gallery). I have worked from my sketches and my memory and feelings to create this painting.
These are some details from my painting.
I hope you like it.
Time for me to move on to my next painting. Actually, I have three others on the go. But I want to get my sketching and ideas together for a new one, which will give me four on the go.

Wow! This is an incredible painting! This painting is “busy”, which I like…
