Jerusalem Art

Jewish Themes and Celebrations

Welcome to my websiteThank you for sharing it with your friends.

I am a British born Israeli artist who loves Israel and is inspired by the sights and sounds and movements of  its people.

Most of my work focuses on Jerusalem, where I spend a great deal of my time.

I love to use colour, and especially like watercolours.  I also enjoy lino cutting and printing my blocks mainly in black and white.  I enjoy the contrast of the intense sunlight with the darkness of the rainy winter skies and the black clothing of many Jerusalemites compared with the colours worn by others.

In my GALLERY you can see some of my finished work.  In my SKETCHBOOK  you can see my sketches and get an idea of how I work.

Title:  Jerusalem, Before Shabbat

In this watercolour painting  I have used a range of blacks and greys with white and some touches of colour.  I have tried to capture the atmosphere in Jerusalem just before Shabbat comes in on a windy, rainy Friday.   The men must get home quickly to leave their umbrellas, put the flowers in water, etc, before going to Synagogue.  One man is carrying his hat in the special hat-shaped box, another is carrying his Shabbat suit.  This is painted from memory and from quick sketches.

This painting is for sale as a limited edition (of 100) signed giclee (fine art) print.   The prints are on my GALLERY/STORE page.
Read my BLOG to find out more about the giclee prints.

just was fortunate enough to recognise the powerful message in the artists work and buy.!!
beautiful line, colour, movement…………too small wish I had a much larger oil of my own to grace my walls.
priced way below the market and certainly WAY BELOW THE TALENT

exuberantly done – I feel the joy in the lines, the facial expressions, the colours, swinging tzitzits and the centrality of the sefer torah scrolls — makes me want to join in!

I would love to see a challah cover with your artist’s touch!
